Joy Division – "The Best Of Joy Division" (2 CD)

Joy Division – “The Best Of Joy Division” (2 CD)
2008 / Warner / Mp3 VBR-2

As if proof were needed that record companies can churn out endless Joy Division re-packages, here’s this double album release.

But of course we love it!! Like alcohol or non-Milf pussy, we’re always suckers for this stuff round here!

I can hear the stampede of Interpol, Editors and dozens of post-punk rehashers already rushing out to get this too!

We love the typically beautiful album cover shot too. Of the style that used to be a hallmark of Factory Records. Although this is on Warners, who are not noted for having any style whatsover!
Here’s some blurby blurb;

Yet another Joy Division compilation will hit the market on March 24 2008. The double-disc Best Of set includes such key singles as “She’s Lost Control,” “Transmission,” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” as well as John Peel performances, a couple live cuts, and an interview with frontman Ian Curtis and drummer Stephen Morris.

And more;

This ‘best of’ collection catalogues seminal Manchester post-punk band Joy Division’s brief but influential career. Having only recorded two studio albums ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’, the band have left a lasting legacy which continues to inspire musicians to this day.

There is a brooding intensity and mesmerising beauty about the songs which makes them timeless. From ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ to ‘She’s Lost Control’ all the well-known tracks are here which makes it perfect for newcomers.

Also included are recordings from the band’s famed Peel session and the iconic performance on Something Else which will please ardent fans.
