Jacques Brel – Les Marquises (With Bonus Tracks)

https://i2.wp.com/www.egzakt.com/documents/image/coups-coeur/hd/brel-1.jpg

Jacques Brel – Les Marquises (With Bonus Tracks)
French | MP3 @320 kbps | Covers | Time: 48:19 | 91 MB
Remastered 2004 this edition includes 5 Bonus Tracks

In 1973, after he stopped his acting career, Jacques Brel decides to travel around the world. On his boat, the Askoy II, he sails the tropical seas. But he knows his fate his sealed … he has lung cancer.

In 1976, his doctors tell him that he cannot be cured. He then moved to the Marquesas where he writes the songs composing this album.

The album is released on November 17th of 1977. One million copies have been pre-ordered.

This testimonial album includes some of his best songs : Jaurès, an homage to the socialist politician murdered just before World War I; Knokke-Le Zoute Tango where he openly sings about sex and prostitution in Amsterdam – his descriptions of these women had never been that precise before; Les F… a song defending french speaking culture in Belgium and mocking Flemish speaking people (he is Flemish himself) on a slightly disco music which differentiates it from the other tracks of this album.

Five of the songs here are from the musical Vilebrequin : Voir un ami pleurer, Vieillir, Les remparts de Varsovie, Le bon dieu and Knokke-Le-Zoute Tango. These great songs alone make this album a must hear.

Voir un ami pleurer and Vieillir are very melancholic which makes sense considering Brel knew he was doomed when he wrote it. Les remparts de Varsovie is more upbeat and cheerful though quite masochist. It has to be said that Brel had never hidden the fact that he favoured male friendship over women’s!

The original album ended on Les Marquises, a hymn to his final home where Brel lived a simple and harmonious life awaiting his death.

He died on October 9th of 1978, having left the Marquesas two days before.

He has been buried in the Marquesas in the same cemetery as the French painter Paul Gauguin.

This 2004 remastered edition includes 5 bonus tracks of what might have been Brel’s new album had he lived a little longer…”

https://i0.wp.com/i53.photobucket.com/albums/g62/providence2/alizee.jpg

Here’s French hotty Alizée, purveyor of Euro-pop.

Oh and owner of the sexist body this side of Jessica Rabbit! (not that I’m into rabbits … well not anymore!)

//starophileimages.free.fr/retouches/alizee_003.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Alizée ‘s a big star in Franceland, despite coming from the distant southern island of Corsica, the citizens thereof being somewhat looked down upon by “mainlanders!”

Of course, the great great great grandfather of Sarkozy, Napoleon Bonaparte was born in the town of Ajaccio on Corsica a few years before Alizée (15 August 1769).

I’m not sure whether Alizée’s related to Napo!

Alizée is famous for her stage shows where she dresses like a cross between an Amsterdam hooker and a Los Angeles gonzo porn star!

We know a little more, but it’s not as interesting!

We’ll tell you more in a minute after we post a hot pic of the Corsican hotty!

https://i2.wp.com/stuff.brorsan.com/alizee.jpg

Alizée Jacotey is a French singer, born August 21, 1984 (6 days after Napoleon’s birth date! ) in Ajaccio, Corsica.

She goes by the stage name Alizée —the feminine form of alizé, the trade wind! Erm …. OK, whatever!

She was discovered by Mylène Farmer, following her winning performance in the talent show, Graines de Star, when aged only 15 back in 1999.

While collaborating with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, Alizée released two albums—both of which were hits inside and outside of France.

https://i0.wp.com/blog.celebritymovieblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/alizee3xw4_1.jpg

Alizée entered the music business in 2000. She has since released three studio albums – first two of which were composed by Laurent Boutonnat and written by Mylène Farmer.

Her first album was Gourmandises, which received Platinum certification within three months of release. Gourmandises was a success both in France and abroad—after it had its international launch in 2001—earning Alizée the distinction of being the highest selling female French singer in 2001.

The album featured her most successful single “Moi… Lolita” which reached number one in several countries in Europe and East Asia. The marketing campaign around the single affixed Alizée’s image as that of a seductive lolita!

Gourmandises was followed by a second studio album, Mes Courants Électriques in 2003, which was also quite successful, though not as big a hit as Alizée’s debut album. Following its release, Alizée toured France during the fall of 2003, performing in 43 concerts throughout France, along with Belgium and Switzerland.

Alizée married fellow French singer Jérémy Chatelain in late 2003. Since her marriage she took a break from singing, but returned with a new album, titled Psychédélices on December 3, 2007.

http://elcesare.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/alizee2.jpg

Some trivia (even more trivial than what’s above!)

  • Alizée has sold more than five million albums throughout Europe.
  • She has starred in a Japanese commercial and has taken part in various stage shows and live performances outside of Japan.
  • A dance that can be performed by the female Night Elf avatar in the computer game World of Warcraft, published by Blizzard Entertainment, contains an animation that closely resembles the choreography of a section of her stage performances for J’en Ai Marre.
  • The stage costume for the same performance is considered by many to be inspired by a blue sailor outfit seen in the 1997 remake of Nabokov’s Lolita, due to a noticeable similarity in design.

Catch this chick in all her lingeried euro-pop glory here!
She sure can wriggle that pert body!
Nice!!!

Hugues Aufray -“Girl From The North Country” (La Fille Du Nord)
Mp3

We already posted about this great song and included links to various different Versions of the majestic Girl From The North Country

I’m a-wonderin’ if she remembers me at all.
Many times I’ve often prayed
in the darkness of my night

Joe le taxi sent us another very interesting interpretation.

Here, renowned French singer Hugues Aufray sings a version of Dylan’s great “Girl From The North Country” (La Fille Du Nord)
Original French LP - inside sleeve

This comes from the album of Dylan songs by Aufray, called ‘Aufray chante Dylan‘, which we’re looking for … see below!

Now it’s Request Time!

We’re looking for the album of Dylan songs by Hugues Aufray, called ‘Aufray chante Dylan‘ – see below or see http://dylancoveralbums.com/aufray.htm

Renaud – Les Introuvables / Song for Mad Maggie!

cartoons © roykeanz, 2008

When England was the whore of the world,

Margaret was her madam

There is no female hooligan
Imbecilic, filled with murder
No, not even in Britain
Except, for sure, Madame Thatcher

We’ve posted the lovely Maggie ditty from Elvis Costello, Tramp the Dirt Down and it’s album Spike!

In similar vein, here’s another great song, dedicated to Mad Maggie T., it’s Miss Maggie by French singer Renaud (aka Renaud Séchan).

Women of the world or street
So very often just the same
I love every one I meet
Have they fame or be they plain

Down to the last stupid crow
I praise with every word I utter
I’m disgusted by men now
With their morals from the gutter

‘Cause there’s no woman in this land
Quite so stupid as her brother
Nor so vain or underhand
Except, maybe, Madame Thatcher

Lady I love you now, I do
‘Cause when a sport becomes a war
There’s no girls, or very few
Amongst those fans who yell for more

Those with no marbles left to lose
Up to here with hate and beer
Deifying fools in blue
Insulting bastards with a sneer

There is no female hooligan
Imbecilic, filled with murder
No, not even in Britain
Except, for sure, Madame Thatcher

I love woman just because
When she’s sitting at the wheel
There’s no man-like sense of loss
No urge to kill is yours to feel

For a slightly damaged headlight
Or for two fingers in the air
There are those who wish to fight
To the death if they but dare

An “up yours” their favourite sign
There’s no woman so vulgar
To use this symbol all the time
Except, perhaps, Madame Thatcher

How I love you, dear woman
You don’t go to war to die
Because the vision of a gun
Does not make you pant and sigh

Amongst those hunters of the night
Who jump on creatures that are frail
And occasionnally an Arabite
I’ve yet to see a female

There is no woman low enough
To spit and polish a revolver
Just to feel so bloody tough
Except, for sure, Madame Thatcher

The atom bomb was never made
By a human female brain
And no female hand has slayed
Those U.S. peoples of the plain

Palestinians or Armenians
Bear their witness form the grave
That a genocide is masculine
Like a SS or a Green Beret

In this bloody mass of man
Each assassin is a brother
There’s no woman to rival them
Except, of course, Madame Thatcher

And lastly Woman, above all
I love hour gentleness so mild
A man draws strength from his own balles
Wich like his gun he shoots from wild

And when the final curtain draws
He’ll join the cretins in the harvest
Playing football, playing wars
Or who can piss the farthest

I would join the doggic host
And love my days on earth
As my day to day lampost
I would use Madame Thatcher.

Elvis Costello – Wake up Maggie (Palin-Thatcher) / SPIKE

cartoons © roykeanz, 2008

When England was the whore of the world,

Margaret was her madam

Mad Maggie’s being resurrected lately!

The only touchstone that can fully describe the uber right-wing sentiments of bimbo Polar Palin!

Who’d have thought some mad nazi bitch with potentially limitless power would crawl out of some Alaskan sewer and almost make Mad Maggie Thatcher look liberal! Almost!

That Thatcher was one evil, right-wing cunt!

Thatcher wreaked untold havoc in her own country and across vast tracts of the world;

  • in Britland, she tried to decimate the working class – and to a large extent succeeded (e.g. forcibly ruining the livelihood of thousands of miners, dismantling the unions, etc),
  • in Northern Ireland (e.g. refusing to give basic rights to IRA prisoners, resulting in the deaths of many prisoners by horrific hunger-strike and also ultimately leading to the rise of IRA power; authorising deaths squads to kill certain individuals with views contrary to hers; overseeing a government which gave confidential police information on suspected IRA members to Protestant Terrorist murder gangs; etc. etc.),
  • in the Malvinas Islands (staging an insane war over a piece of uninhabited Argentinian rock in the Atlantic in order to win an upcoming election!)
  • and further afield (being a big supporter of evil tyrant Pinochet, backing senile Ronny Reagan’s crazy campaign of supporting tyrannical right-wing despots in numerous places from Chile to Salvador to Guatemala to SE Asia!)!

There’s loads more shit too if I wanted to waste more time remembering! But I don’t!

Is this mad evil hag still alive?

Elvis Costello famously wrote the bile filled “Tramp the Dirt Down” in the bitch’s honour on his 1989 LP Spike which we post below.

Costello’s ultimate dream therein is that “… when they finally put you in the ground, I’ll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down” !!

Why don’t you tell us how you really feel, Elvis?!!

This track makes Lennon’s great “How do you Sleep?” seem like a nursery rhyme!!

[ThatcherIllusion3.JPG]

I saw a newspaper picture from the political campaign
A woman was kissing a child, who was obviously in pain
She spills with compassion, as that young child’s
Face in her hands she grips
Can you imagine all that greed and avarice
Coming down on that child’s lips

Well I hope I don’t die too soon
I pray the lord my soul to save
Oh Ill be a good boy, I’m trying so hard to behave
Because theres one thing I know, Id like to live
Long enough to savour
Thats when they finally put you in the ground
I’ll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down

When England was the whore of the world
Margaret was her madam
And the future looked as bright and as clear as
The black tarmacadam
Well I hope that she sleeps well at night, isn’t
Haunted by every tiny detail
cos when she held that lovely face in her hands
All she thought of was betrayal

And now the cynical ones say that it all ends the same in the long run
Try telling that to the desperate father who just squeezed the life from his only son
And how its only voices in your head and dreams you never dreamt
Try telling him the subtle difference between justice and contempt
Try telling me she isn’t angry with this pitiful discontent
When they flaunt it in your face as you line up for punishment
And then expect you to say thank you straighten up, look proud and pleased
Because you’ve only got the symptoms, you haven’t got the whole disease
Just like a schoolboy, whose head’s like a tin-can
Filled up with dreams then poured down the drain
Try telling that to the boys on both sides, being blown to bits or beaten and maimed
Who takes all the glory and none of the shame

Well I hope you live long now, I pray the lord your soul to keep
I think Ill be going before we fold our arms and start to weep
I never thought for a moment that human life could be so cheap
cos when they finally put you in the ground
They’ll stand there laughing and tramp the dirt down

I gotta say that I was a huge Elvis fan in the late eighties (I was about 9 at the time! … Really!), but this one didn’t do much for me.

However, returning to it these decades later, it seems better than I had originally remembered.

Halcion Daze: Music To Soothe The ’60s Housewife

Halcion Daze: Music To Soothe The ’60s Housewife
Various Artists
Mp3 / Mediafire

A wonderful collection compiled by the excellent plagueofangels who writes about it thusly;

Just to review… This all started, innocently enough, with:

“… a DORIS DAY song should always be followed by a DEAN MARTIN song which should always be followed by a ROSEMARY CLOONEY song. LOUIS PRIMA… PATTI PAGE… BOBBY DARIN… CONNIE FRANCIS… NAT KING COLE… DINAH WASHINGTON… and so on….”

And this is where it ends. I managed to get just about everybody in (sorry, Louis Prima; “Jump, Jive an’ Wail” just missed the cut), though not necessarily in the originally intended order. This took more hours than I care to count to compile. I hope you’ll find it a worthwhile diversion from our usual fare ….

Left-click [HERE] to download the vintage ditties. (’60s-styled cocktails & Quaaludes optional.)

French Post-Punk & Cold Wave 1978-1983 ; Mödern Young People – Des Jeunes Gens Mödernes –

French Post-Punk & Cold Wave 1978-1983
Des Jeunes Gens Mödernes – Mödern Young People
Mp3 256kbps VBR

Between the late 70s and mid-80s in France, a prolific and chaotic music scene that combined the energy of rock-n-roll, punk nihilism and electronic experimentation.

A kind of hope and frenzied vitality could also be detected during these years. A breed of modernist utopia, which was sometimes wilfully ironic, fed them both. Resistant to the post-Hippie utopias of the previous generation, they were in search of an identity. They recognised themselves in the dark lyrics, the cold synthetic music and the laid-back attitude of the new groups hatching all over the country, as much in the provinces as in Paris.

With the benefit of thirty years hindsight, the Modern Young People project reactivates this post-punk/novo disk/French new cold wave scene, through an exhibition, a book, an audio compilation, and a documentary film.

One of the projects ambitions is to highlight a cross-section of the specific creative diversity of this scene. It does so by engaging with the music produced by this scene, but also with the aesthetics and the attitudes.

Brigitte Bardot sings Serge Gainsbourg’s Bubble Gum (1965)

[Brigitte+Bardot017.JPG]
Love, my friend, is just like Bubble Bubble Gum !

A wonderful clip of BB in her hotty heyday belting out some classic Gainsbourg pop!

This piece is much beloved by mad Manc Morrissey, who’s been playing it at his gigs.

Mon bubble bubble gum

Entre mes bras tu étais comme
Tu étais tendre et sucré comme
Tu as perdu ta saveur comme
Mon bubble bubble gum

Si je pouvais te balancer comme
Mais tu me colles aux semelles comme
Allez va reviens welcome
Mon bubble bubble gum

Gillian Hills – Ma Premiere Cigarette

https://i1.wp.com/i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa232/custer_2007/1-134.jpgGillian Hills is a rather mysterious femme fatale!

Born on 5 June 1944, she was, back in the 1960s and 1970s, an actress and singer who achieved minor success but who gained a cult following.

Born in Cairo Egypt to English parents, Hills grew up to be a jaw-droppingly beautiful minor star.

Emerging in French culture in the shadow of the similar Brigitte Bardot (even pursued and thrust into movies by Bardot’s ex-husband playboy Roger Vadim [a man also linked to Catherine Deneuve and Jane Fonda! what a bastard!]) Gillian was, arguably, prettier then Brigitte and had a stronger, though less sultry voice.

Although English, she achieved success in France in the sixties as a singer (a little akin to Jane Birkin). Strange, I always thought those frenchies disliked les rosbifs (the “Roast Beefs”)!!

She however did not share Bardot’s instincts or backings by France’s Sultans of music, like Serge Gainsbourg, who wrote songs for Bardot (although she did work with Serge once or twice).

Her music career consisted mostly of covering American songs in French, though later she would write her own songs.

Gillian also appeared – often scantily clad or undressed! – in quite a number of excellent 1960s and 1970s movies including A Clockwork Orange, Blow-Up and Beat Girl, amongst others. She also starred in the classic 1969 adaptation of Alan Garner’s novel The Owl Service, as Alison Bradley.

Beat Girl, of course, had the wonderful tagline;

My mother was a stripper …. I want to be a stripper too!

I love that attitude in a young sexy chick!

https://i2.wp.com/www.orbitmedia.co.uk/images/filmimages/Beat%20Girl.png

//www.chachacharming.com/content/images/3/side4.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Over 30 years ago, Gillian did a Reggie Perrin and suddenly disappeared from public view! Many rumours surrounded her sudden absence. Prosaically though, she apparently is working in publishing. But nobody knows for sure! Except herself, obviously! It’s a rather strange story.

According to Gillian Hills experts, Micheline de Séralux & Michel Feron, in 1975 Gillian decided it was time to stop making movies, and she moved to New York to work as an illustrator for various books and magazines.

Her disappearance in the ’80s prompted a rumour that she had died (suicide according to some French newspapers, or burnt alive when her apartment caught fire). However, Jukebox magazine writer Jean-William Thoury discovered, some 15 years later, that she had suffered from a very long illness, but was in good health now. Also, she was no stranger to the world of music as she married Stewart Young, the manager for the Scorpions.

So here’s naughty francophile Gillian Hills with Ma Premiere Cigarette (My First Cigarette)!

Everybody knows smoking can be so sexy! Everybody knows it’s good for you too!

On this track, this francophile hotty sounds a tad like a francophile Marilyn!

Download the track here; MA PREMIERE CIGARETTE

And here’s naughty francophile Gillian Hills singing the song!

Just watch her smoulder and smoke!

Benjamin Biolay – Two Albums from the new Serge Gainsbourg!

https://i1.wp.com/www.gala.fr/var/gal/storage/images/les_stars/leurs_bio/biolay_benjamin/images/benjamin_biolay/188409-1-fre-FR/benjamin_biolay_reference.jpg

Here are two albums via our pal Joe Taxi from Monsieur Benjamin Biolay who has been touted – by his PR agents anyway! – as the new Serge Gainsbourg!

Big fucking claim! Check out these albums below and work out if it’s remotely true!

Benjamin Biolay, born January 20, 1973, is a French singer, songwriter, musician, actor and record producer. He is the brother of singer Coralie Clément, whose two albums he wrote and produced, and the ex-husband of Chiara Mastroianni, the daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni.

Biolay is considered one of the most exciting talents in French music and someone who has helped change the course of French pop over the past few years. His recorded output has already earned him the ‘new Serge Gainsbourg’ tag in his homeland and across Europe.

You can read an interesting interview with him from the NY Times HERE

His low-key vocal style is somewhat similar to French pop star Étienne Daho. With the singer Keren Ann, whose first two albums he co-wrote and produced, he contributed several songs to Chambre avec Vue, the successful comeback album of singer Henri Salvador, and has since worked as a writer, arranger or producer for other icons of French music, including Juliette Gréco, Julien Clerc and Françoise Hardy.

Biolay Studied Violin at Music School, Then the Trombone at the Lyons Conservatoire. He Studied Writing, Composition, Arranging, and Studio Production from the Age of 20.

His first big success came when he composed, wrote and produced Keren Ann’s first album in 1999. The pair wrote and composed songs for Ffrench singing legend Henri Salvador, – notably “Chambre avec vue”, a huge success.

Biolay’s debut solo album appeared in 2001 and he has steadily built a catalogue of five star albums since, including the soundtrack to “Clara et moi” with his wife Chiara Mastroianni which includes the single “Dans la merco benz”.

He wrote or performed most of the songs on the 2004 soundtrack to Clara et Moi by Arnaud Viard, and released the album Home with his wife the same year.

Bonnie and Clyde, the single, was a seminal piece of sixties pop. Typically Serge. Typically wonderful. Typically timeless!

And here, not only with that wonderful track, but loads of other great music, is the 1968 collaboration between then uber-hot actress Brigitte Bardot and her then boyfriend, the late great Serge Gainsbourg!

This is is the 20 bit digitally remastered reissue!

This release includes the original cover art and all 12 of the original tracks, including the wonderful title song.

https://i0.wp.com/www.brigittebardot.com/images/039_25511.jpgGainsbourg’s 60’s music is so pop & cute…Nobody else sings these songs like BB does(especially in Comic Strip(#3). Her “Shebam! Pow! Blop! Wizz!” makes this song so vividly pop)! The dangerous(?) sound of serge & BB’s voices in Bonnie and Clyde(#1) seems to me like the reflection of their relationship (BB was married; their relationship wasn’t going anywhere just like Bonnie & Clyde couldn’t get away from their crimes and were being in the danger together). Great album to get the feel of 60’s French pop. Serge is still “singing” in this album, not whispering like in his later works. Definitely before (or begining of ) he established his lolita concept.

Mélanie Dahan – La Princesse Et Les Croque-Notes [2008]

https://i1.wp.com/img99.imageshack.us/img99/7075/51kdh1iuyt500yo0.jpg

Mélanie Dahan – La Princesse Et Les Croque-Notes [2008]

mp3 – 320kbs – 102.5mb + 21.5mb

More great French music, very kindly sent to us by our copain Joe taxi, a renowned expert in all things French. From French music to French cinema to French pussy! And everything in between!

Here’s a rising star in the French jazz scene, the talented – and rather hot! – Mélanie Dahan!

Recently nominated for JAZZ IN JUAN-LES-PINS REVELATIONS (famous jazz festival in the south of France) and named as “the young hopeful of French jazz vocal” at LES COULEURS DU JAZZ festival in 2005, swinging MELANIE DAHAN encompasses her wide array of influences from French chanson to the Jazz and Latin repertoire, to be emotionally believable at every turn.

A brand-new project was born in 2006: Melanie DAHAN has been fortunate to meet a tremendous musician, pianist GIOVANNI MIRABASSI, to pay a tribute to a famous French lyricist from Montmartre: BERNARD DIMEY. A full justice is done to his lyrics, all marked by strong melodies and meaty harmonic progressions.

“A very pure and honey voice with a delicate swing and sensitivity, a remarkable talent who fully deserves to prosper in the jazz landscape… ” (JL BARON)

“Melanie Dahan hasn’t had her hour of glory yet, but it won’t be long coming.” (Jean-Michel Proust – Nouvel Observateur – TSF Jazz radio in Paris)

https://i2.wp.com/img142.imageshack.us/img142/589/p1040695cgu7.jpg

Melanie Dahan was 11 years old when she first started to sing: she was the youngest member of a troupe of singers, dancers, and comedians, called “LES GAVROCHES”. She performed in several musicals and shows on stage for 5 years.

After that great experience, she switched to jazz, maybe because at home she grew up bathed in the sound of jazz and bossa nova, favoured by her amateur pianist father. Also maybe because one day, she fell in love with jazz when she listened to album “Unforgettable” by Natalie Cole and live album “Ella in Berlin”. Then without taking any jazz lesson, only inspired by her favourite singers, she decided to look for musicians and to give a first gig in October 2001.

Melanie gained valuable experience by performing live with her band. She elegantly sang the well-known standards but also original compositions (lyrics: Melanie DAHAN / music: Pierre BERTRAND). She had the opportunity to meet truly good musicians: pianists PIERRE CHRISTOPHE, AHMET GULBAY, contrabassists NICOLA SABATO, MARC MICHEL LEBEVILLON, drummer BENJAMIN HENNOCQ… “Playing here and there in Parisian jazz clubs, connecting with the audience, I quickly realized how exciting it was to be able to improvise and swing to vary tunes and suit my own style. It gets you right there!”

Melanie has always been a good student. After High School, she studied International Trade at Sorbonne University in Paris. But as music was a deep passion for her, she was secretly aspiring to a singing career. In 2003, she took the plunge and she decided to perform professionally.

She learnt vocal technique at STUDIO DES VARIETES and she eventually studied jazz at IACP and BILL EVANS PIANO ACADEMY under the tutelage of Sara Lazarus and Michelle Hendricks. Today she still feels like studying jazz (is there an end one day?) and she is herself a singing instructor.

MELANIE DAHAN CONCERT & ITW

From a concert at DIVAN DU MONDE (Paris) in August 2006

Marianne Faithfull – Hier Ou Demain

https://i2.wp.com/img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/07_01/MARIANNE070707_468x610.jpg

I could have been with you,
but you were not there.

Marianne Faithfull performs Serge’s wonderful bittersweet pop song Hier Ou Demain i.e. Yesterday or Tomorrow.

Fucking hell! Marianne was a serious hotty back in the day! This is of course before the Stones got their dirty claws on her!

This comes from the French TV musical comedy ‘Anna’, back in 1967.

This song and all the other music in the film were written by Serge Gainsbourg.

The film stars the lovely Anna Karina and Jean-Claude Brialy.

Listen to my heart beat
It does not beat for you,
But for another
That I do not know.
Yesterday or tomorrow,
I would have said yes to you .
Yesterday or tomorrow,
But not today.
Yes, I could have been with you,
But you were not there.
I will not be there anymore.
Yesterday or tomorrow,
I would have said yes to you.
Yesterday or tomorrow,
But not today.
Yesterday or tomorrow,
But not today.

I was free like you,
But did not know it.
Yesterday or tomorrow,
I would have said yes to you .
Yesterday or tomorrow,
But not today.
Yesterday is so far already
And I did not love you.
And as of tomorrow if you
think of me

NICO & SERGE GAINSBOURG "STRIPTEASE"

https://i2.wp.com/i10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/ImInDaBand/04nico01.jpg

No, unfortunately, the stunning Nico (well, she was in the sixties) does not perform a striptease!

Nevertheless, it’s great to hear this wonderful Serge track. And the images are good too.

Cocoon79 says;

I made a videoclip for the wonderful and rare track by nico & serge gainsbourg “strip-tease”! (thanks to romi for climbing up the trees;)

Thanks also, Romi. I hope you didn’t fall on your ass!

Big thanks to Cocoon79
