My last date ended like this!

Yap, last Friday I had to pay a midnight visit to ER with a teflon frying pan embedded in my empty noggin!

Even the wired-up junkies, the assorted murderers and the other blabbering bleeding lunatics there thought I was weird!

Man, that bitch didn’t have too much New Year cheer!

I got to third base though. Almost! So it was all worth it!!

A great start to the New Year!

I’m sure it will continue in the same vein!

……

Anyway, another classic Tex Avery moment here!

We love ya Tex!

Tex Avery – Blitz Wolf (WWII)

The 20th century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: the growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy.

– Manufacturing Consent: the Political Economy of the Mass Media (Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky)

For those who thought/think Israel was/is the first to invent war propaganda to feed to the masses! (cue a slew of manic vitriolic comments!!)

From one of our heroes, the legendary Tex Avery, here’s a fine piece featuring Adolf Wolf (Colossal Stinker) and the three lil piggies! (Austria, Poland and Prussia, we suppose!)

We love Der Mechanized Huffer und Puffer! How can we get our paws on one of those?!

Not that Tex was the inventor of propaganda! Neither was Israel (well, it’s only been around a few decades!) Nor America. Not even the Nazis or the Brits!

Nah. Like prostitution, propaganda has been around for countless centuries. Reliable recorded evidence obviously does not go back nearly that far though.

One of the earliest documented examples of propaganda is the Behistun Inscription (c. 515 BC) detailing the rise of Darius I to the Persian throne.

Propaganda was widely used as a colonisation tool by Alexander the Great (356 BC- 323 BC).

The Arthashastra written by Chanakya (c. 350 – 283 BC), a professor of political science at Takshashila University and a prime minister of the Maurya Empire (the empire of ancient India) discusses propaganda in detail, such as how to spread propaganda and how to apply it in warfare. His student Chandragupta Maurya, founder of the Maurya Empire, employed these methods during his rise to power.

The writings of Roman scribes such as Livy (c. 59 BC – 17 AD) are considered masterpieces of pro-Roman propaganda.
